Subsea Environmental Services (SES) was founded with the principal goal of responsibly recovering and recycling Out-Of-Service (OOS) submarine telecommunications cables, and in the process returning the ocean floor to its natural state.

SES is pleased to report two recent and exciting developments :
1. In early February and ahead of schedule, SES successfully completed recovery of 1,480 kms of ANTINEA, a 1.5” coaxial cable manufactured by Cables de Lyon. We thank the Master and Crew of MV Rebecca, as well as the vessel’s new Technical Managers, MF Shipping Group, for a smooth voyage and job well done.
2. SES extended the Time Charter of MV Rebecca.
Since delivery of MV Rebecca following her modifications to a cable recovery vessel in 2014, SES has been the exclusive Charterer of this unique ship. Rebecca and her crew have now successfully completed 7 cable recovery projects, all Subsea Group portfolio cables, totaling approximately 10,000 km of cable.
During this time, management of the vessel has evolved from a single ship, demise charter, to one of the most dynamic and respected ship management companies. Throughout, SES has continued to innovate and improve its own risk management practices and environmental policies. Developing closer relationships with our new and existing environmental and industry partners, as well as with our seafarers, enables SES to be a better and more responsive company, which benefits everyone involved
In addition to being a full member of ICPC, SES is now also an Associate member of ESCA. We anticipate completion of our ISO 9001 & 14001 certification this spring.
While SES remains committed to focusing on the environmental benefits of our business, we also recognize the need to educate and share our story. To this end, we will soon be expanding our website to allow greater outside access. In the meantime, we have posted links to a video of the recovery and offload of ANTINEA and the good ship Rebecca.
